Our History

OUR SPONSORS (YEAR 1-PHASE TWO)
Our success story is attributed to multi collaborations and strategic partnerships to enhance and promote participation from both public and private sectors alike.
We thank our sponsors Isuzu East Africa, Vivo Energy Kenya (Shell), Sarova Hotels, Tourism Fund, The Presidential Delivery Unit (PDU), Safaricom and many others that have contributed to the success of TTK Phase 2.

THE FLAG OFF (PHASE TWO)
Tembea Tujenge Kenya™️ phase 2 was launched at Sarova Panafric in Nairobi and was flagged off by Presidential Delivery Unit Head, Mr Andrew Wakahiu on 2nd October 2020. This is a long-term concept, bound to keep running for 5 years, with annual reviews to ensure sustainability and value increment.
Through this campaign, the tourism sector has significantly enhanced its collaboration, and shows good signs of influencing other external factors under different sector mandates.

October 2020
After a stressful year of having to deal with a global pandemic which led to a reduction in visitor numbers and income generated from tourism activities, BT Concepts re-introduced the concept Tembea Tujenge Kenya™️ which aims at Marketing Kenya to Kenyans to discover the untold wealth of destinations and experiences available. In promoting local travel, we reduce dependency on foreign markets for tourism income and ensure we promote a sustainable tourism in Kenya

April 2017
This marked the end of phase one (MKRTT) after covering 30 out of 47 counties in the first year of promoting domestic tourism in Kenya. We highlighted great gems, discovered and popularized new touristic gems in the country.
We have had over 11,500 tour participants and two thirds converting to bed nights in that period. This was achieved through aggressive marketing on radio, our digital platforms and short code.
The tour gave our sponsors/ Stakeholders great value through brand awareness and promoting conversions. Engagement with each county engagement ensured smooth alignment with tourism objectives and participation from the locals.

October 2015
The Maina Kageni Road Trip Tour (MKRTT Phase 1) was born. Every weekend was packed with activities themed around family, niche-events, sports, partying, nightlife and sampling different cultures in Kenya. All these were tailored to get Kenyans to #TembeaKenya and sample the beauty of Kenya.
Our sponsors were Chevrolet Trailblazer from General Motors, Vivo Energy Kenya (Shell) and Magical Kenya from Kenya Tourism Board.
