Visiting Makueni, Here Is Where to Stay!

Makueni is in the Southern East part of Kenya, and it has six constituencies. Some of the significant places you can visit are like the first African AIC church in Makueni constituency, the Chyulu Hills in Kibwezi West constituency or Mt Kalembwani in Kilome constituency. The county is surrounded by good, tarmacked roads and often the easiest way to access the county and its constituencies is by using Mombasa Road. When visiting the county here are some hotels, we have identified that you should consider staying at.

Kusyombunguo Hotel

The hotel which its name means owner of the keys in Kamba, is currently the biggest hotel in Makueni. It has a total of 72 rooms, ranging from luxury, executive, superior and standard. Residents staying also have access to the gym with a fitness instructor, there is a spa with a sauna and steam room, and there is also a swimming pool too, which is also accessed by the public. It is in Wote town but is a short drive to the city centre, so your stay although in the main town will be surrounded by scenic views of the mountains and peaceful surroundings.

Porini Inn

This aims to be one of the star hotels in Makindu, Makueni. They currently only have eight rooms ranging from deluxe to standard, two conference centres with one holding a maximum of 200 persons with covid regulations and they have a swimming pool too which is also accessible by the public. At the end of 2022 they aim to expand the inn into a hotel with of 40 rooms, gym and spa, barber and salon, car wash facility and an underground club to provide nightlife entertainment.

 

 

Kilimani Breeze Hotel

This is a boutique hotel is situated in the city centre of Wote town which is opposite from the main Government offices like the Makueni County Headquarters. In total, the hotel has only 18 rooms ranging from deluxe, superior, standard and mini standard. They have a bar lounge and restaurant that is also accessible by the public. They have six conference halls in the hotel that can be booked for private functions and following Covid19 protocols they hold from a minimum of 20 persons to maximum of 80 persons.

 

 

Fort Hotel

This hotel is also in Wote town and is beside Makindu road. It is a small hotel with only 16 rooms from Deluxe, VIP and a family room that contains three beds. They have a restaurant and a club too called Lokoo, which is adjacent to the hotel and often has a range of night time activities one can enjoy when visiting the county. If staying in the hotel one will not need to worry about noise as rooms are sound proofed. The hotel also has conference rooms, these being three in total ranging from an allowance of minimum 20 persons to maximum of 70 persons, with covid regulations applied.

 

 

Wave Crest Castle

This hotel is spacious with surrounding gardens fit for Sunday fun-day. It has 28 rooms but are currently planning on extending it to 42 rooms. They option of rooms offered is standard and deluxe. They have two conference rooms that range from 20 to 100 persons. On Sundays they usually have nyama choma barbeque and children are entertained as they a provide bouncing castle, this is also open to the public too.

 

 

Kelvian Hotel

This hotel is also located off Makindu Road in Wote town. It is important to note that the hotel is currently increasing the rooms within the main building of the hotel however one can still be able to book standard and deluxe rooms at affordable prices. It is also a hotel often booked by corporates for their conference spaces can hold up to a maximum of 250 persons and their minimum is 60 persons.
